North Central Speedway - Honored as the 2006 WISSOTA Track of the Year at the recent national awards banquet, is a 1/3 mile clay oval located south of Brainerd, Minnesota. Racing season runs from April 29th until August 26th.

Summer in the Brainerd Minnesota Lakes area means fishing, swimming, canoeing, water skiing and tubing. There area also great shopping opportunities and community celebrations. In fall we are treated to a spectacular color show with the abundance of red maples in the area. It is a great time for hiking, biking and inline skating. Winter in the Brainerd Area turns to ice fishing, snowmobiling, skating, and cross country skiing.

Dower Lake Recreational Area - Two miles west of Staples on US Highway 10, then one mile south, reservations available, ASA accessible, softball fields, beach, boating/camping, changing rooms, drinking water, grills, horseshoe pits, lake or pond, picnic area, playground, restrooms, shelter/pavilion, trails, two sand volleyball courts, one of a kind 600' fishing pier, police patrolled.

Winter Sports - The Staples-Motley Area abounds with outdoor activities throughout the winter. There are hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails within the area. These trails lead to the cities of Staples, Aldrich, Motley, Leader, Pillager and the Lincoln Lakes Area. Ice fishing is another popular sport. The many lakes in the area provide a variety of opportunities for winter fishing. The many miles of forest are a favorite area for cross country skiing and snow shoeing where one can enjoy the peace and tranquility.

Lincoln Lakes Area - Just south of Motley you will find the Lincoln Lakes Area. This is a beautiful group of lakes with wooded and hilly shores, bays and islands and some of the greatest fishing in Minnesota. The Lincoln Lakes Area offers camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, dining, and sightseeing–just to name a few. You are sure to enjoy yourself.
